Ravenswood School Opens Up Principal Search Committee to Community Members

RAVENSWOOD — Ravenswood Elementary's Local School Council is fast-tracking its search for a new principal in the wake of the departure of Heather Connolly, soliciting nominations for membership on the school's Principal Selection Committee.

The committee will define the requirements needed to apply for the position, review candidate resumes, conduct interviews and site visits, host a community forum and make a final recommendation to the LSC.

Interested individuals, including any resident of the community surrounding Ravenswood, have until noon, July 23, to submit a letter of interest to the LSC. The letter should include the applicant's qualifications and an explanation of their desire to participate in the search.

Submissions can be made electronically to psc@ravenswoodelementary.org or a hard copy can be delivered to the school's office, 4332 N. Paulina St.

Important upcoming dates in the search process: 6:30 p.m., July 23, the LSC will meet to choose members of the Principal Selection Committee; 6:30 p.m., July 25, first working meeting of the newly formed Principal Selection Committee.

All meetings are open to the public.
