CHICAGO — Two teenagers fought off an attacker in Heart of Chicago Saturday by hitting him with a purse, authorities said.

Police are seeking help in finding the man, who is wanted for criminal sexual abuse, according to a community alert.

The man followed a 15-year-old girl and 18-year-old woman at about 6 a.m. Saturday from the intersection of South Kedzie Avenue and West Cermak Road in Little Village to the 2300 block of West Cullerton Street in Heart of Chicago, police said.

The man then approached the women and grabbed the 15-year-old girl's pants. The 18-year-old woman began hitting him with her purse. The suspect then ran, heading West on Cullerton, police said.

The man is described as white, between the ages of 35 and 40, standing 5-foot-4 and with a "chubby" build. He is bald, has a tattoo on one of his arms and was last seen wearing a green shirt with a logo, khaki shorts and black shoes, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 312-747-8380.
