Man Attempted to Abduct Teen Girl on the West Side, Cops Say

CHICAGO — A 14-year-old girl was the victim of an attempted abduction, officials said.

The girl was walking in the 700 block of South Karlov Avenue at about 1:20 p.m. on July 9 when an unidentified male asked the victim if she wanted a ride, according to a Chicago Police Department community alert.

The alleged offender then exited the vehicle, grabbed the girl by the arm and attempted to throw her into the his white cargo van that contained tinted windows.

The offender is described as a bald, dark black male between the ages of 40 and 50, wearing a black and white shirt with horizontal stripes. He weighs about 200 pounds and also has a droopy right eye.
