FULTON RIVER DISTRICT — A proposed high-rise at 150 N. Riverside Plaza would pack a lot of commercial and residential space atop a diminutive footprint.

Ald. Brendan Reilly (42nd) included renderings of the mixed-use tower in an email to residents announcing a community meeting on the subject at 6 p.m. on July 31, co-sponsored by Reilly's office and the Fulton River District Association.

The public meeting, hosted in Hotel Allegro's Walnut Ballroom at 171 W. Randolph St., will include a presentation from the development team and time for community feedback on the preliminary drawings and construction plans.

The renderings depict a plaza with green space reminiscent of the development planned at nearby Wolf Point, which is moving forward now after months of dialogue between Reilly, residents and the development team.

Prime Group Inc. set out to develop the site in 2008 with a Lucien Lagrange-designed mixed-use building, but the plan eventually was abandoned.
