WEST LAWN — Police are warning West Lawn residents to be on guard following two late-night robberies in the 8th Police District in the past month.

The most recent robbery happened at 2:13 a.m. on July 8 in the 6500 block of South Kildare Avenue, police said. An earlier robbery occurred at 1:54 a.m. on June 15 in the 5900 block of South Pulaski Avenue.

Police said offenders displayed weapons or used physical force to rob the victims in both cases. Police described the offenders as Hispanic men, about 27 years old, between 5-foot-8 and 6 feet, and weighing about 145 pounds.

Police warned residents to be aware of their surroundings and to report suspicious activity to the authorities.
