WEST TOWN — A motor vehicle accident involving a school bus and 21 elementary school children was cleared without injury Tuesday afternoon.

According to students from Moos Elementary School, a blue sedan attempted to drive between a vehicle and their school bus near Ashland Avenue and Milwaukee Avenue. The crash occurred at about 4:40 p.m., according to the Chicago Fire Department.

Wesley Diaz and Alex Trujillo, 12-year-old students at Moos, said they and their classmates were unharmed in the minor collision that left scrapes on the bus' right side.

Trujillo even captured video of the accident, which he was more than willing to show off.

But the wreck, which slowed down southbound traffic on Ashland Avenue, worried parents — especially as they saw six ambulances lined up and full of children.

"We were scared, but everything seems OK now," said, Alex's mother, Fabiola Trujillo.

According to an employee at a store along Ashland, the school bus could be seen stopping before the kids were led out and into the waiting ambulances.

"The kids were hollerin' at the girls walking by," said Rick Sawyer, 28.

According to the Chicago Fire Department, all of the children were unharmed in the accident. Those who weren't claimed by parents were transported to a nearby facility.
