COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A 37-year-old pregnant woman was sitting down to eat lunch with her family at Northwestern Memorial Hospital on Monday when a man snatched her iPhone, prosecutors said.

Sean McBrady, 30, of the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue in Evanston, is charged with robbery for allegedly grabbing the woman's phone from her wheelchair as she stood up to join family members for a meal in the hospital cafeteria.

"The victim's husband gave chase and caught up to the offender," according to court records. "[The two] began to fight over possession of the phone."

The robbery suspect got the better of the husband and was on top of him when an off-duty police officer from Evergreen Park happened by, records state.

The officer stopped the attack, and McBrady was arrested. He shook his head in objection Tuesday as prosecutors read the allegations against him in a Cook County Courtroom.

Judge Adam Bourgeois Jr. ordered McBrady held on $150,000 bond.
