Two Women Shot in Roseland

CHICAGO — Two women were hurt after being shot in Roseland Monday afternoon, police said.

They were driving northbound on State Street near 102nd Street when they heard shots and realized they'd been hit about 1:45 p.m., said Officer John Mirabelli, a police spokesman. They drove to 105th Street and Michigan Avenue and called 911, he said.

A 42-year-old woman was shot in her chest and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition, police said. 

A 32-year-old woman was shot in her arm and was treated and later released from Roseland Community Hospital, police said.

No one was in custody after the incident.
