Police: Man Tried to Abduct 14-Year-Old Girl in Bronzeville

CHICAGO — A 14-year-old girl fled from a man who grabbed her shoulder in an attempted kidnapping in Bronzeville, police said.

The incident occurred in the 600 block of East 48th Street about 8 a.m. Monday.

The suspect is described as a black man who is 35 to 45 years old, police said.

He is about 5-foot-7, weighs between 140 to 175 pounds, has brown eyes and a dark complexion.

He was wearing a black, long-sleeved hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans at the time of the incident. He was also driving a dark blue van with a dent on the left rear door above the bumper.
