CHICAGO — One man was killed and at least one other man was injured in shootings on the city's South Side Thursday, police said.

Robert Douglas, 31, was killed in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood late Wednesday night, authorities said. Police were called to the 7500 block of South Union Avenue about 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, according to Officer Ron Gaines, a police spokesman.

Police found the Douglas lying unresponsive on the scene with multiple gunshot wounds in his body, Gaines said.

Douglas was pronounced dead on the scene about 12:30 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Police did not have details surrounding the shooting and said no one was in custody for it Thursday morning.

About 1 a.m. Thursday, a 23-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in the Park Manor neighborhood.

The man was in the 6900 block of South Eberhart Avenue when a gunman approached on foot and attempted to rob him.

When the man tried to flee, the gunman shot him in his foot, Gaines said. The man was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition.

No one was in custody in connection with the shooting as of Thursday morning.
