BRIDGEPORT — Crate diggers on the never-ending search for quality vinyl and the tastemaking vendors who supply it will be visiting Maria’s Community Bar for its inaugural record fair.

“You never know what’s going to be at a little record fair. It’s not going to be a Cars record or Fleetwood Mac album,” said Joe Bryl, the bar’s award-winning music curator who helped organize the event for this Saturday.

More likely, Bryl said, are rare and eclectic finds — Bollywood music, obscure rap records, boogaloo, jazz and much more.

The Bridgeport Record Fair takes place noon-6 p.m. Saturday in the patio area of Maria’s, 960 W. 31st St. Admission is free.

Here’s a look at the record vendors: Aguzate (tropical and Caribbean music), Sonorama (Latin vintage, soul, funk, blues), Tropicalazo (Jazz, Latin, rock), Peter Keppa (funk soul, rock, disco, rarities), Pilsen Vintage (rock, jazz, soul, funk, blues, country, etc.) FMEL (electronica, hip hop, industrial dance music, hip hop, house music, electro, techno, indie) and TEWZ (“Rare grooves from the Planet Earth.”)

A number of local artists will be selling vinyl and music-inspired art work.

Throughout the afternoon, and as the fair wraps up, a long lineup of DJs will be spinning choice cuts. The roster includes Bryan Martin, Miss Dez, Kevin Jones, The Luck of Lucien, Tropicalazo, and Sonorama.

The record fair, part of the week long community-focused Bridgeport Version Fest, coincides with another local event, the Mash Tun Festival, a craft beer event featuring breweries from across the globe.

The Mash Tun Festival takes place 2-6 p.m. at the Bridgeport Art Center, 1200 W. 35th St. Tickets are $45.
