COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A West Side teen accused of stealing a woman's cellphone was busted after he unwittingly posted self-portrait photos of himself on the woman's Facebook page, prosecutors said.

Jesus Anaya, 18, gave investigators an extremely useful clue when he didn't realize the photos he was taking automatically posted to the Facebook page linked to the phone, prosecutors said.

Anaya, whose nickname is "Bam Bam," allegedly grabbed the LG phone from a woman in the 2700 block of West Cermak Road on Tuesday, prosecutors said.

Soon after, he started taking "selfies."

Once the photos started appearing on Facebook, police tracked him down. He was spotted a few blocks from his home later that night. When they tried to stop him, he ran, prosecutors said.

When police caught up to him, Anaya apologized, explaining that he had to urinate.

Anaya, of the 3000 block of West 21st Street, was charged with robbery, indecent exposure and urinating in a public way.

A Cook County judge set his bail at $75,000 Thursday during a bond hearing.
