LINCOLN SQUARE — It's not easy being green, and it's not cheap either.

Waters Elementary is in the hunt for a $75,000 grant from Global Green USA that would help fund an outdoor ecology classroom at the school — and they need your help to win the cash.

As one of 10 finalists in the Green School Makeover Competition, Waters is seeking votes for its entry. Cast your one-time online ballot here.

In addition to the $75,000 prize, the winner will also receive a $5,000 Office Depot gift card and technical assistance from Global Green's building experts.

Waters faces some stiff competition for the award, including West Elementary School in Long Beach, N.Y., which was devastated by Hurricane Sandy in October 2012.

The ecology program at Waters, 4540 N. Campbell Ave., offers students from pre-K through eighth grade field-based nature experiences that emphasize restoration and exploration.
