CHICAGO — A man died after he was shot in Brighton Park Wednesday morning, authorities said.
The 18-year-old man was shot in the 4700 block of South Talman Avenue about 11 a.m. by a man who fled the scene soon after, police said.
He was shot in his chest and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:46 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Officials there identified the teen as Fernando Mondragon of the 4000 block of South Artesian Avenue.
Police said there's an ongoing gang conflict in the area and the shooting appears to be gang-related. No further information was immediately available.
