CHICAGO — A California man died after falling on Red Line tracks near Wrigley Field, police said.

Otis Carmichael, 44 of West Covina, Calif., fell onto the third rail at the Addison Red Line Station about 1:35 a.m. Friday morning, said Officer John Mirabelli, a police spokesman.

He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, Mirabelli said.

A Friday autopsy report ruled Carmichael's cause of death as electrocution. Alcohol intoxication was a secondary cause, the report said.
