WICKER PARK — A robber made off with an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing a Citibank branch in Wicker Park and hopping in a cab Tuesday, police said.

According to Chicago police spokesman Daniel O'Brien and Special Agent Joan Hyde, an FBI spokeswoman, the robbery occurred just before 4 p.m. at a Citibank branch, 1455 N. Milwaukee Ave.

The alleged suspect is described as a white male, 35 to 40 years of age, 6 feet tall and 170 pounds, with brown hair.

According to reports from Hyde and O'Brien, the man approached the teller and made a demand before receiving cash from the teller.

No injuries were reported and no weapon was used, Hyde said.

The man was last seen entering a yellow cab headed northbound on Milwaukee Avenue, according to O'Brien.

Three squad cars were parked outside the branch at 1455 N. Milwaukee Ave. around 5 p.m. Tuesday, with Shakespeare District police officers stationed inside the bank telling bank customers that the bank was closed.

Hyde encouraged citizens to check in at Bandittracker.com for updates.
