CHICAGO — Armed robbers held up victims at knifepoint in and around the Clinton Blue Line stop over Memorial Day weekend, officials said.

In the robberies, a man shows a knife and forcibly takes iPods, cell phones, tote bags and wallets from victims, police said in a community alert.

One robbery occurred about 7:45 a.m. Friday in the street in the 500 block of South Clinton Avenue. Another took place about 3:20 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of South Clinton Street, police said.

One robbery took place on the CTA "L" platform and another took place in the street, police said.

One suspect is described as a black male between 25 and 35, standing 5-foot-4, weighing 160 pounds and with black hair and a dark complexion. The second suspect is described as a black male between 40 and 45, standing between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8, weighing between 140 and 160 pounds, and with gray or black hair and a medium complexion, the alert said.
