CHICAGO — Police are seeking information about a man who attempted to lure a child away from Alexander Graham Bell Elementary School last week.

On May 22, the man approached the victim, a 10-year-old boy, at about 3:20 p.m. after the child had exited the school, 3730 N. Oakley Ave., police said in a community alert.

The man told the child he was there to pick him up. The victim ran away from the man, who left the school grounds.

The man is described as black, 25 to 35 years old, between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, and with a skinny to medium build and short black hair, officials said.

The man has gold braces and was wearing a backwards Cubs hat, a short-sleeved black t-shirt, blue jeans and blue and black Velcro flip flops, police said.
