COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — After falling victim in an armed heist of hair extensions, a man led police to one of his alleged attackers by identifying him on the website mugshots.com.

Korie Taylor, 18, and Markus Stewart, 20, allegedly arranged to buy hair extensions from a private seller on April 4, prosecutors said. But when they arrived, instead of producing the cash Taylor had promised over the phone, Stewart pulled out a gun to rob the 23-year-old Grand Boulevard woman who had the hair extensions.

Stewart then allegedly struck a man accompanying her in the head with the gun, prosecutors said. The gun fired, and a bullet grazed the man's left ear.

The robbers "grabbed several bundles of hair extensions and fled," according to court documents.

They were arrested earlier this week after the man shot in the ear recognized Stewart's photo on the website mugshots.com, prosecutors said.

Both Taylor and Stewart are charged with armed robbery.

Taylor is being held on $75,000 bond. Stewart is being held on $500,000 bond. Prosecutors did not say how much the hair extensions were worth.
