CHICAGO — A woman was seriously injured in an apartment fire in Little Village Friday, officials said.
The woman, 67, was in serious condition from smoke inhalation at Albany Terrace Apartments in the 3000 block of West 21st Place, a Chicago Housing Authority high-rise for senior citizens, authorities said.
The flames were contained to one room and were extinguished about 2 p.m., Chicago Fire Department officials said.
The apartment appeared to be on the fifth floor.
The cause was unknown as of Friday afternoon. There were no sprinklers in the building, fire officials said.
