Spike in Burglaries Seen Among River North Businesses

CHICAGO— Police are warning River North businesses to be on alert for burglaries after seven were reported in the area in less than two weeks.

According to the police report, five of the seven burglaries happened in the 400 block of North Wells Street from May 4-May 14.

The other two incidents happened in the 000 block of East Superior Street and 300 block of West Hubbard Street during the same period.

All the burglaries happened between late afternoon and early morning.

Businesses are encouraged to pay extra attention to locking doors and windows and activating alarm and/or video surveillance systems.

Anyone with information regarding the burglaries should call the Bureau of Detectives — Area Central at 312-747-8384.
