CHICAGO — Two men were hurt, one critically, in separate shootings on the West and Far South Sides of the city Wednesday afternoon, police said.

A 17-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 1700 block of North Harding Avenue in Humboldt Park about 1 p.m., said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.

The teen was taken to Norwegian American Hospital in good condition, Estrada said. Police said the shooting is believed to be gang-related, and the victim is a documented gang member. No one is in custody.

Minutes earlier about 12:45 p.m., a man in his 30s was shot multiple times inside a building the 9900 block of South Walden Parkway, Estrada said.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center from the Beverly shooting in critical condition, Estrada said.

No one is in custody, and further details about how the shooting happened were not immediately available Wednesday afternoon.
