CHICAGO — Armed robberies have increased recently in Chicago Lawn, police said.

The robbers either imply they have a weapon or show one as they approach victims, and then go through the victims' pockets and take electronics, police said in a community alert Tuesday.

Incidents have occurred about 8:15 p.m. Thursday in the 7100 block of South Millard Avenue and about 4 p.m. Saturday in the 6900 block of South Hamlin Avenue, officials said.

Police ask anyone with information to call 312-747-8380.
