CHICAGO — Authorities have wrapped up a search for bodies of possible additional victims of serial killer John Wayne Gacy at his mother's Norwood Park home, and no human remains were found, officials said Friday.

Gacy was convicted of sexually assaulting and murdering 33 young men and boys in the 1970s. He buried 26 victims in the crawl space of his suburban Des Plaines home.

Officials believed additional victims might have been buried at his mother's home, a property he was also hired to maintain, because of reports by neighbors that he was performing "odd jobs" there at night, said Frank Bilecki, sheriff's office spokesman.

Ground-penetrating radar and infrared imaging was used to find anomalies that could be consistent with buried human remains. No concealed graves were found at the home in the 6100 block of West Miami Avenue, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart said in a statement.

Gacy was executed in 1994.
