CHICAGO — At least six people were wounded in overnight shootings, including three men who had been walking together on the South Side and a woman shot on the Northwest Side.

About 12:30 a.m. Monday, the three men were walking on a sidewalk in the 1400 block of West 73rd Street in West Englewood when they heard shots and felt pain, said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.

A 23-year-old man was shot in his back and taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, Estrada said.

With him was a 22-year-old man who was shot in his lower left leg and taken in "stable" condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center and a 31-year-old who was shot in his right leg and taken in "stable" condition to Holy Cross Hospital, Estrada said.

The shooting might have been gang-related, cops said.

Earlier, at 11:35 p.m., a 41-year-old man was approached by a man with a gun in the 5700 block of South Prairie Avenue in Washington Park, Estrada said.

The shooter fired several times and struck the man twice in his right leg, Estrada said. The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.

Cops said the victim has a gang affiliation, but the motive for the shooting was unclear.

About 10:15 p.m. in Irving Park, a 20-year-old woman told cops she was shot by someone in a dark-colored car in the 4200 block of North California Avenue. She was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in good condition with a bullet wound in her left leg, police said.

But when cops investigated the Irving Park scene, they found no evidence of a crime, police said. Cops said the victim was not being cooperative with police. She is a documented gang member, police said.

At 7:25 p.m., a man was shot on the South Side in West Pullman.

A 23-year-old was driving near the intersection of 123rd Street and Emerald Avenue when he was shot by someone riding a bicycle, Estrada said. The victim was shot twice in his torso and taken to Roseland Hospital in serious condition, according to Estrada.

Earlier Sunday evening, cops shot and killed a 16-year-old who was shooting at pedestrians in Lawndale, according to a statement from police.

No one was in custody for the shootings.
