ROSCOE VILLAGE — Perhaps best known for its Twinkie Tiramisu, Kitsch'n on Roscoe isn't necessarily the first restaurant that springs to mind for Cinco de Mayo, but the restaurant's pop-up artisan taco bar might change your mind.

On Friday and Saturday nights, Kitsch'n chef and owner Jon Young will serve up a special menu that pays homage to the years he spent traveling and cooking his way around Mexico.

Kitsch'n has been teasing pop-up dishes all week on its Facebook page. A sampling includes: chili-lime spiced mango; corn with cheese, butter, mayo, chili powder and lime; and carnitas tacos with charred pineapple, cilantro, onion and lime.

The evening will also feature house-made salsas, Mexican beers and tequila cocktails. The event runs from 5-11 p.m.
