CHICAGO — A woman made off with about $900 after robbing a TCF bank branch in Edgewater Friday afternoon, authorities said.

The woman robbed a TCF bank at 5343 N. Broadway about 2:05 p.m., said Special Agent Joan Hyde, an FBI spokeswoman.

The woman, believed to be about 35, did not show a weapon but said that she had one, and demanded cash from the bank teller, police and the FBI said.

She was given about $900 before fleeing, police said.

The woman was described as black, standing between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-7 and wearing a light-colored bandana on her head, sunglasses, a dark jacket and red shoes, according to the FBI.

A reward is offered for information leading to her capture. The FBI asks anyone with information to call 312-421-6700.
