WICKER PARK —  Earth, beer and live music fans, take note: there's a fest for you.

The fifth annual Green Music Fest on Damen Avenue between North Avenue and Schiller Street is scheduled to take place June 22-23.

Spanning three city blocks, the two-day festival includes live music on two stages, eco-minded vendors, arts and crafts, family activities and a cell phone recycling station.

Taking its name seriously, food vendors will be prohibited from using Styrofoam containers and plastic bottles, according to a news release, which touts a "comprehensive waste recycling system," and staffers who will assist attendees with disposing of their compostable and recyclable items.

New Belgium Brewery, which uses wind and solar power at its plant and has one of the lowest water-to-beer production ratios in the industry, is an example of one of the beer vendors, according to organizers, who said that the fest aims "to motivate Chicagoans to make environmentally-conscious choices in their lives."

A $5 suggested donation to benefit event sponsors Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce, Wicker Park Parents' Association and the Chicago Center for Green Technology is requested for admittance to the fest.

The music fest will run from noon to 10 p.m. on June 22-23. The Green Family Fun Fest, located on Wicker Park Avenue just south of Damen Avenue, will be open from noon to 5 p.m. both days.

Presented by the Wicker Park Parents' Association, the Green Family Fun Fest will offer recycled arts and crafts, DIY musical instruments, organic cooking demonstrations and classes, face painting, puppetry, drumming and dance demos, lessons from local pest experts on "good bugs" and gardening, student performances and live children's music.

Chicago-based Subterranean, House Call Entertainment and Big Creek Productions will book music on two stages, dubbed "north" and "south."
