COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A Virginia man is accused of attacking another man at a River North bar and fracturing his skull, prosecutors said in court on Sunday.

Albert Bingenheimer, 42, of the 13000 block of Gray Oaks Lane in Midlothian, Va., was charged with aggravated battery, authorities said.

Authorities said Bingenheimer was at a bar in the first block of West Hubbard Street early on Feb. 7 when he got into an altercation with another man.

In the attack, Bingenheimer left the other man with a fractured skull and additional injuries, prosecutors said. The victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, prosecutors said. His condition was not immediately available.

Bingenheimer was charged in connection with the attack this weekend after he turned himself in, police said.

Cook County Judge James Brown ordered Bingenheimer held in lieu of $10,000 bail on Sunday.
