Red Line Service Resumes After Suspected Track Fire at Lake Street

CHICAGO — Normal Red Line service was resumed Thursday afternoon after the fire department responded to a call of track fire at the Lake Street stop, officials said.

Red Line trains from Fullerton to Cermak-Chinatown were rerouted to eleveated tracks at 4:26 p.m., according to the CTA.

The Fire Department was called to a track fire at the Lake Street stop, said a CTA spokeswoman. The fire department said no fire was found.

There were no injuries.

Normal Red Line service resumed at 4:47 p.m., with residual delays.
