Lakeview's DryHop to Debut New Beer Collaboration at Atlas Bar

By Serena Dai | April 16, 2013 12:15pm

LAKEVIEW — East Lakeview's anticipated brewery DryHop isn't expected to be open until the end of May, but you can check out another new beer from the craftsmen starting Tuesday night at Atlas Brewing Co.

DryHop brewer Brant Dubovick collaborated with Atlas to make "For Those About to Bock, an 'Oceanic Pale Bock'" — a beer the brewers describe as a hoppy, copper-colored spring drink with a floral aroma.

The brewery has been embedding itself in Chicago's craft beer scene by collaborating with other local breweries. Previously, DryHop had collaborated with Hamburger Mary's, Haymarket Pub & Brewery and Begyle Brewing Co. on beers, some of which have been tapped across the city.

"These are the sort of things you can expect us to be doing," DryHop owner Greg Shuff has said.

DryHop's space at 3155 N. Broadway is still a work in progress but is anticipated to open in late May with original beers and food by former Charlie Trotter chef Pete Repak

Dubovick, Shuff and the rest of the DryHop team will be at Atlas, 2747 N. Lincoln Ave., at 7 p.m. Tuesday to celebrate the release of the beer. Atlas will continue serving "For Those About to Bock, an 'Oceanic Pale Bock'" for about a week, DryHop said.
