'Desperate Landscapes' Reality Show Seeks Tragic Chicago Yards to Save

By Serena Dai | April 16, 2013 10:09am

CHICAGO — Got an ugly yard?

The DIY Network's reality show "Desperate Landscapes" wants to fix it up. The show is still looking for "tragic front yards" in Chicago to feature in the show.

In the show, which has been on for eight seasons, host and licensed contractor Jason Cameron tries to transform distressed yards into beauties in eight hours. Cameron also hosts the DIY reality show "Man Caves."

Show producers said they're looking for the worst landscapes, people with "fun, funky" personalities, have neighbors who love them but not their yard and people with interesting Chicago jobs.

The yard renovation comes at no cost to the homeowner, and shooting would be in July.

Chicago homeowners can go to jaytv.net to fill out applications. The deadline is April 30.
