Cop Use 'Emergency Takedown' on Man Charged With Throwing Bricks

CHICAGO — A Rogers Park man allegedly trying use bricks to smash the windshield of a squad car at his local police station was ordered held on $50,000 bond. 

Michael Falk, 37, of the 1700 Block of West Albion Avenue, was charged with criminal damage to government property after an officer witnessed him throwing bricks at the front window of a police car parked at the station at 6464 N. Clark St. about 3:20 a.m. Sunday.

Officers used an "emergency takedown" to nab Falk, who was allegedly throwing multiple bricks "causing scratches to the window and causing it to loosen from the frame," according to court records. 

He appeared in Cook County Bond Court before Judge James Brown Monday.
