CHICAGO — The man whose body was found in the Marquette Park lagoon Friday died by homicide, according to an autopsy conducted by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

The man, whose identity is still unknown, died from multiple stab wounds, the autopsy concluded.

Police received a call regarding a body found in the 6700 block of South Kedzie Avenue at 8:43 a.m. Friday, said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.

The department's Marine Unit was sent to pull out the body shortly after, Estrada said.

Police said the man was black and in his late teens or early 20s.

In February, another man's body was found in the lagoon; he was drunk and apparently stumbled into the pond, and drowned.
