Police Seek Man Suspected in Chicago Lawn Retail Robberies

CHICAGO — Police are warning businesses in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood of a series of armed robberies that have taken place in March and April.

Police said a black man, described as 30 to 32 years old, 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-3, and weighing between 160 and 170 pounds, enters small retail stores with a handgun and demands money from the register and store safe.

The robberies have occurred at stores in the 5000 block of South Pulaski Avenue, on March 27 at 8:55 p.m.; 4800 block of South Cicero Avenue on March 28 at 8:45 p.m.; 4700 block of South 47th Street on April 6 at 4:28 p.m., and 6100 block of South Archer Avenue on April 9 at 8:55 p.m.
