CHICAGO — A Chicago man wanted for an August murder in Back of the Yards was captured in Los Angeles Friday by the FBI, officials said Wednesday.

Martin Ruiz, 24, was arrested during a traffic stop in the southwest area of Los Angeles by FBI agents, who had a warrant for his arrest, according to a written statement from the FBI.

Federal authorities are expected to dismiss a warrant charging Ruiz with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, but he will return to Chicago to face first-degree murder charges in the killing of the 15-year-old boiy, officials said.

Ruiz is charged with killing Jaime Ruvalcaba, the Tribune reported.

Jaime was fatally shot about 4 p.m. Aug. 21, 2012, in the 1900 block of West 47th Street.
