CHICAGO — A North Lawndale man is due in court Friday after he led police in a West Side chase using a stolen semi-trailer, authorities said.
Eddie Watson, of the 1200 block of South Avers Avenue, is accused of stealing a trailer from the 4600 block of West Flournoy Street near the Eisenhower Expressway about 3:50 a.m. Thursday, police said.
Watson, 46, has been charged with a felony count of aggravated possession of a stolen motor vehicle and a misdemeanor count of fleeing or attempting to elude police.
Watson led police on a chase through the West Side, crashing twice on West Ogden Avenue before he stopped in the 1200 block of South Avers Avenue near Watson's home, police said.
Police arrested Watson as he tried to run away, authorities said.
He was also charged with traffic violations including damaging public property, striking fixtures and other property, not having a driver's license, and disobeying a stoplight.
