Police Warn of Sexual Assault, Burglaries on Southwest Side

CHICAGO — Police are warning Southwest Side communities of recent home burglaries, including one in which someone was sexually assaulted.

Someone entered homes or garages overnight last week while residents were inside and took various items, police said in a community alert. Police said a victim was sexually assaulted during one of the burglaries.

The burglaries happened within homes in the 5200 block of South Nagle Avenue in Garfield Ridge and in the 6000 block of South Narragansett Avenue in Clearing overnight Saturday and Sunday, according to the alert.

A suspect was described in one incident as tall, thin and wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt, according to the alert.
