ROSCOE VILLAGE — Concerned about crime trends in their neighborhood, residents of Roscoe Village are forming a Community Watch.

The initial meeting has been scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18.

Sgt. Jason Clark of the Town Hall (19th) District is expected to walk attendees through the steps needed to form and maintain an effective Community Watch.

Recent Chicago Police Department ClearPath crime statistics show that during the two-week period between March 13 and March 26, Beats 1921 and 1922 in Roscoe Village experienced one armed robbery, five burglaries, four stolen vehicles and more than a dozen incidents of larceny.

Clark has been asked to address current crime issues affecting Roscoe Village, as well as steps residents can take to deter criminal activity.

The organizational meeting will be held at Audubon Elementary, 3500 N. Hoyne Ave., in the school's third-floor auditorium.

The next CAPS meeting for Beats 1921 and 1922 is scheduled for 7 p.m. April 17, 2452 W. Belmont Ave., in the Police Auditorium.
