COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — Three men nabbed in a Roscoe Village home invasion on Tuesday appeared in court under charges of residential burglary Wednesday.

Michael Stephens Jr., 31, of Waukegan; Tyrone L. Donald Jr., 22, of the 5200 block of South Racine Avenue in Back of the Yards; and Cory A. Durr, 31, of the 6700 block of South Winchester Avenue in West Englewood were each charged with two counts of residential burglary after the bust.

The men, two of whom were on parole at time, entered a building at the 3500 block of North Oakley Avenue at about 11:10 a.m. in an attempt to loot it, according to court documents.

A resident of the building called police after noticing footsteps in a room belonging to her daughter.

After arriving at the scene, officers spotted Stevens and Donald, who then ran upstairs and locked a door behind them in an attempt to evade the officers.

After forcing entry, both were subsequently arrested by police, though Durr was later found hiding under a bed.

Durr initially resisted arrest and a struggle ensued before an officer "conducted an open-hand head stun" and arrested him, according to court documents.

Among the items found on the three would-be robbers were a pillow case full of "miscellaneous property" and a computer.

After searching the suspects' car, a silver Chevy Silverado, found near the home, police found items stolen in a previous heist, cops said.
