Police Warn of Daytime Burglaries on the Near North Side

CHICAGO — Police issued a community alert warning of burglaries in which suspects enter homes in River North and Old Town while residents are away and take cash, laptops or tablets.

The burglars appear to have targeted the same block of North Kinsbury Street repeatedly.

Chicago police said the burglaries occurred:

  • In the 500 block of North Kingsbury Street between 7:45 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. March 6.
  • In the 500 block of North Kingsbury Street between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. March 6
  • In the 500 block of North Kingsbury Street about 4 p.m. March 6.
  • In the 500 block of North Kingsbury Street between 8 a.m. Feb. 28 and 7 p.m. March 10.
  • In the 1200 block of North Wells Street between 3:08 and 3:15 p.m. March 18.
