Two Men Shot, Wounded During Robberies

CHICAGO — Two men were shot Saturday during robberies on the city's South and West Sides, authorities said.

About 2:30 p.m. in Austin, a 22-year-old man was shot in the hand in the 5000 block of West Chicago Avenue, said Officer Michael Sullivan, a police spokesman.

Area North detectives are investigating, but no one is in custody, Sullivan said.

About 9:15 p.m. in Brighton Park, a 27-year-old man was shot in the leg during a robbery in the 4700 block of South Rockwell Avenue, police said. The man was taken to the hospital in good condition.
