Top Chicago Restaurants: App Maker Finds Favorites for Locals vs. Tourists

CHICAGO — We may love when visitors appreciate all our fine city has to offer, but that doesn't mean Chicagoans want them extending the line outside Revolution Brewing.

A new survey of reviews and social media mentions conducted by travel app Triposo combed more than 5 million restaurant reviews to find which eateries locals and tourists prefer.

Pizza made both lists, naturally, but beyond that, there wasn't much overlap.

Tourist favorites were centered downtown, with Weber Grill, Gibsons and Grand Lux Café all making the list.

Locals, unsurprisingly, ventured much farther from the Magnificent Mile. The West Side dominated the list, with Big Star, the Boiler Room and Lockdown Bar & Grill all getting mentions for their meat-filled menus.
