Missing Girl Last Seen Heading to School, Police Say

CHICAGO — Police said they're looking for a 16-year-old girl who was last seen heading to school on the South Side Monday morning.

Dorothy Johnson was last seen near the intersection of Marquette Road and Ellis Avenue in Woodlawn, police said in an alert.

Johnson was on her way to school near 49th Street and Wabash Avenue in Grand Boulevard, according to the alert. 

The alert said Johnson was last seen wearing an orange knit cap with a black coat and black boots. She was carrying an orange duffel bag, police said.

She is described in the alert as 5-feet 8-inches tall and weighing 135 pounds.

She also might have been seen near the intersection of 69th Street and King Drive.

Police asked anyone with information to call 911 or 312-747-8380.
