CHICAGO — At least five people were shot and another three stabbed across the city from late Saturday to Sunday afternoon, police said.

The latest occurred shortly after 1 p.m. in the 7900 block of Sount Damen Avenue when a male was shot in the buttocks, police said.

The victim was being treated on the scene and was in stable condition as of 1:45 p.m.,  said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.

At about 10 p.m. Friday, a 20-year-old man was stabbed in the chest on the 5800 block of West 63rd Street in Clearing, Estrada said.

The man, who lives in the area, was walking along West 63rd Street when an unidentified male stabbed him once. The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Hospital and Medical Center, where he is in stable condition, Estrada said.

Police are currently questioning one person.

In West Rogers Park, a 21-year-old woman was shot in the left side of her neck about 12:15 a.m. Sunday, Estrada said. The woman was a passenger in a car that was approached by a gunman on foot.

As the gunman fired several shots into the vehicle, its driver sped away into an alley on the 6300 block of North Claremont Avenue and struck another car, according to police.

The injured woman ran to the intersection of Western and Devon. She was taken to Saint Francis Hospital and is in stable condition, Estrada said.

There were no other reported injuries, and no one is in custody.

At about 3:54 a.m. Sunday, a 44-year-old man was shot in the leg while attempting to break up a fight on the 7000 block of South Morgan Street in Englewood, Estrada said.

According to police reports, one of the people arguing pulled a gun, fired several shots and struck the man in the upper right leg. He was transported to Advocate Christ Hospital and Medical Center in stable condition, Estrada said.

No one is in custody.

In Back of the Yards, a 19-year-old man was shot about 4 a.m. Sunday, Estrada said. The man claimed he was driving on the 4500 block of South Paulina Street when unknown gunmen in another car opened fire, police said.

The man, who was struck once in the upper arm, drove himself to a nearby firehouse at 4401 S. Ashland Ave., Estrada said. He received treatment from firefighters and was transferred to Stroger Hospital in good condition.

The incident appears to be gang-related, police said.

At about 5:07 a.m. Sunday, two men, ages 26 and 27, were stabbed on the 1500 block of West Division Street in West Town, Estrada said.

The men were walking down the street when they got into a physical fight with an unknown man, according to police. Both victims had stab wounds and lacerations to their abdomens; they were taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.

And in Gage Park, a 20-year-old man was shot on the 3500 block of West 58th Place about 5:23 a.m., Estrada said.

The man sustained an accidental gunshot wound to his lower leg and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition. Estrada said it was unclear whether the wound was self-inflected or from an acquaintance.

No further information was available.
