Winter Storm Could Dump More Than Six Inches on Chicago Area

By DNAinfo Staff on March 3, 2013 4:05pm

CHICAGO — More than a half-foot of snow could be dumped in the city by a winter storm arriving sometime Monday.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch for northern Illinois and northwest Indiana for Monday night and Tuesday.

During the day Monday, the agency expects around an inch of snow to accumulate in northern Illinois.

The bulk of the white stuff is forecast to fall Monday evening through Tuesday morning with some parts of the region likely getting more than six inches of snow.

Though the agency hasn't predicted yet where the most snowfall will occur, it likely will make such updates to its forecast as the storm draws closer.
