Police Warn of Chicago Lawn Businesses of Recent Robberies

CHICAGO — Police issued an alert to Chicago Lawn businesses after three similar robberies since February.

In these incidents, the robber enters a story, displays or implies that he has a handgun and takes cash, police said.

The description of the offender varies, but is generally described as a white male, 30 to 55 years old, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot 11 tall and weighing between 150 to 180 pounds.

The three incidents occurred in the following locations:

  • 5000 block of South Archer Avenue on Feb. 12 about 1:20 p.m.
  • 5000 block of South Pulaski Road on Feb. 27 about 6 p.m.
  • 4000 block of West 55th Street on March 1 at 6:50 p.m.
