LAKEVIEW — It may be slushy and cold outside, but that isn't stopping Scooter's Frozen Custard from reopening for the season.

The mom-and-pop frozen custard shop at 1658 W. Belmont Ave. will open again Friday after its yearly winter shutdown. Opening special: Peanut butter and pretzel concrete, the shop announced on Facebook.

Concretes are cups of frozen custard blended with mix-ins and flavoring.

"Spring is Coming......FRIDAY," the shop announced. "Please Join us. Put a smile on your Face."

March concrete specials will include "Minty Moore,"  a mint-and-Oreo concrete with hot fudge, and "Celtic Concrete," mint with hot fudge on top. The daily flavors of the day for opening week are already up on the site, and concrete enthusiasts can look forward to Nutella, burnt sugar and banana Oreo in the first few days.

Scooter's, owned by Mardi and Denny Moore, is now nearly a decade old. It's open 2-10 p.m. Tuesdays to Fridays, 1-10 p.m. Saturdays, and 1-9 p.m. Sundays.
