Two Wounded in Overnight Shootings

CHICAGO — Two men were taken to area hospitals after suffering gunshot wounds overnight, police said.

A 20-year-old man was shot in the leg on the 3900 block of West Monroe Street shortly before 1 a.m., said Officer Laura Kubiak, a police spokeswoman.

He was walking eastbound on Monroe when an unknown offender fired shots. The victim reported feeling pain in his leg, and drove himself to West Suburban Hospital. He was expected to be treated and released.

Police have no one in custody, Kubiak said.

A second man was shot near the 3600 block of West Roosevelt Road around 3 a.m. He walked to Mt. Sinai Hospital and was in good condition, Kubiak said.

Police had no more information.
