CHICAGO — An admitted gang member from Woodlawn was charged with murder for the shooting death of a teenager in June, officials said.

Nasean Flowers, 23, of the 6200 block of South Langley Avenue, was charged with first-degree murder, police said.

Tyquan Tyler, 13, was gunned down in the 6200 block of South Rhodes Avenue about 1:25 a.m. June 24, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Flowers was expected to appear in bond court Wednesday, police said.
